Hospitals and Clinics
Aside from the ongoing lobbying we do of governments and regulators to channel a larger % of GDP into digital health, we actively work with hospitals and clinics to advise on the optimum digital health tools and strategies to improve their patient outcomes and expand the physical borders of their brick and mortar facilities.
With increased smart phone and internet access, hospitals and clinics are able to provide continuity of care through deeper ongoing engagement with patients from a broader catchment area, out-of-hours. We have historically advised on the likes of app-based drug delivery, pill-top-up solutions and at-home monitoring of patients with chronic illnesses (with deep expertise across diabetes and obesity), through the matching of software and hardware solutions.
We have advised on the proprietary build of Electronic Medical Records and associated Doctor Notes and have a deep passion in linking these solutions to benefit the democratization of healthcare, finally putting the patient at the centre of the doctor-patient relationship. The in-house team at Pulse is made-up of entrepreneurs, doctors and engineers, allowing us to provide a full solution to our Hospital and Clinic clients.
We conduct roundtables and workshops around patient acquisition and consumer behaviour change and we provide full strategic advice on the roll-out of new technology-enabled solutions and the associated training required to deliver these services.
Case Study:
Launching a SaaS product for Mediclinic
Mediclinic is a diversified international private healthcare services group, founded in South Africa in 1983, listed on the London Stock Exchange (and JSE in South Africa) with divisions in Switzerland, Southern Africa, Namibia and the United Arab Emirates.
At the outset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Mediclinic UAE quickly realised that due to a country-wide lockdown, their in-clinic primary healthcare patient numbers decreased by over 80%. The Pulse team were quick to develop a bespoke white-labelled SaaS solution for Mediclinc Dubai, allowing for their own doctors to provide continuity of care to their patients through an app-based telehealth video solution, from the comfort of their own home.
From executing a commercial contract, bespoke iOS and Android applications were available on the Google Play and App Stores within 7 days, an unprecedented turnaround, allowing Mediclinic to be the first hospital and clinic provider in the UAE to provide a bespoke telehealth solution.
Such a response not only enabled Mediclinic to continue remote relationships with their patients during the global pandemic (and drive significant patient loyalty and satisfaction), but allowed them to increase patient satisfaction and market share from their competition due to their speed of execution.
3rd party doctor partners for SaaS
Digitally enabled SaaS solutions allow hospitals and clinics to provide continuity of care out-of-hours and for those unable to travel to facilities due to a number of reasons (eg located remotely, disability, global pandemic). Pulse work with 3rd party doctor groups to ensure continuity of care for patients, allowing them to view their favoured doctors from the comfort of their own home. We have advised on both on-demand and scheduled services for clients, and provide support in sourcing, onboarding and training 3rd party doctor partners, including the design and build of associated technology enabled administration dashboards and scheduling tools.
We are fortunate to have worked on 3rd party SaaS enabled solutions in markets as diverse as Egypt and India.
